Silent Night
(with Prelude in C Major from Das Wohltemperierte Klavier)
Franz Gruber and J.S. Bach /arr. K. S. Burkhart - CWJ Music House

Silent Night
Publisher Desc.
Inspiration can come from some strange places - and in this piece, it
came from a broken Christmas tree. This arrangement is a gentle pairing of
Silent Night and J.S. Bach's ubiquitous Prelude in C. The arranger's grandparents' spindly silver Christmas
tree, already decades old by the time she arrived on the scene, stood in a
rotating base that played excerpts from a few carols. The well-worn mechanism
had lost a few notes to the years, and the gaps inspired the melodic changes
in the last few measures at the end. Be sure to check out this unique work
for your choirs this season!
