The Milestone Initiative is a breakthrough in combined, flexible scoring
of the original Milestone Fanfare (2020) and Milestone Fanfare II (2022) both
in one package! This allows for two ensembles to perform together on the same
stage. This Grade 1-2 combined score picks up where the original Grade 1
edition version left off! While the Grade 2 standard parts introduce
syncopation, along with eighth-sixteenth note patterns, and some slur
patterns, the grade 1 "Elementary" parts keep the simplified
rhythms and reduced range of the original. All of this builds on the same
song as the first edition- NOW FLEXIBLE! With combined ensembles, directors
will be able to conduct both versions side-by-side, for a combined
elementary-middle school performance! While much of the time as directors we
struggle to simplify, this is the opposite. Let's challenge our more advanced
students while supporting our younger musicians in the artistic process.
