This original piece is dedicated to Fred A. Merrett, Canadian handbell composer and director who was highly regarded throughout the handbell community. A beautiful and sensitive work, it features a poignant cantabile melody in both minor and major keys and explores a variety of emotions from reflection and nostalgia to joy and delight. The various moods are beautifully formed with LVs, gentle stopped sounds (thumb damps or gentle mallets), and low chimes, which all support and showcase the lovely, lyrical melody.
