Festive Dance on Holy Manna

One of the early American folk hymns published in a shape-note tunebook, this simple, almost plaintive pentatonic melody has been arranged using bright rhythms (10/8) and techniques that create an interesting texture while maintaining the simplicity. Varying moods range from dancelike to introspective and majestic to joyous. The addition of handchimes and optional low bass in the twos add richness and texture. Well-placed LVs, echoes, gentle marts and malleted notes perfectly emphasize the unique character of this wonderful arrangement. This is a fabulous work for worship or concert!
