LEGENDS OF CELLANDIA (for cello orchestra, 5-string electric bass and percussion) by Aaron Minsky (commissioned by the London Cello Society) is a tone poem with a Brahmsian sonority utilizing conventions of progressive rock! There are six cello sections plus one "celtar" section (cellos played like guitars). Legends of Cellandia would be a perfect concert selection for any gathering of cellists from 7 to 100 (or more).
