When Morning Gilds the Skies
The beautiful hymn tune LAUDES DOMINI appears in over 600 hymnals and has been arranged hundreds of times for a variety of choral and instrumental settings. This fresh setting begins with pealing bells that fill us with the joy of a new morning and another praise-filled day. Beginning in C major, the treble descending LV passages provide a constant backdrop for the hymn melody rung by bells, then handchimes (three octaves). This final section is rich and majestic, and the addition of nicely placed shakes brings the amazing setting to a glorious end. This is must-have worship and concert repertoire!
