She heard in the piece feelings of loneliness and also nostalgia for autumn in Japan, an appropriate description of what I wanted to express in the work. The fragile vocalise, a wordless melody, has two main themes: a simple plaintive melody depicting solitude and a second melody which is more ominous in nature.
