A gentle, lyrical setting of a paraphrase of Psalm 16 is written for voices with descant and optional oboe. The whole-tone scale in the opening bars and some modulatory twists offer a nod to the early 20th-century impressionists while still being accessible tonally. It can be used for the rites of baptism, confirmation, and Holy Orders.
