Backstop

Backstop is a medium-tempo, hard-driving blues chart in F. With moderate brass ranges and a unison saxophone line stating the melody, this one has a lot of energy, tight ensemble figures, and an optional open solo section. A soft ensemble and then a strong ensemble section leads to the solos. Suggested solos and chord changes are included in the alto 1, tenor 1, trumpet 2 and trombone 1 parts. An optional flute part is also included. From its attention-grabbing opening to its final chord, this is a wonderful chart that really cooks and is highly recommended!
