As recorded by the Oliver Nelson Orchestra, Berlin Bei Nacht is the fourth movement of the Impressions of Berlin suite. Set in an up-tempo fashion, Nelson's forward-thinking 1971 original starts out with an in-your-face swing unison line played by the saxophones and the trumpets, with the trombones and rhythm section providing the undercurrent. It then moves into a half-time Latin feel before settling into a funk/rock blues solo section for trumpet, or as chosen. This exciting and unique arrangement will be a favorite for your band and audiences alike! An optional fifth trombone part is included.
