By the way...

Scored for two trumpets (in C), horn and trombone. Duration: approx. 2:30. There are multiple meter changes, melodies that overlap between instruments, crisp chordal areas in the piece. The coda begins slightly atonal and gradually opens into bright harmonies at the end. A conductor may be useful in rehearsal and performance. 

By the way... was originally composed for four trumpets and played outdoors during Oberlin College's Commencement Weekend, May 1989.
