By the way...

Scored for two trumpets (in C) and two trombones (arr. 1993). Duration: approx. 2:30. There are multiple meter changes, melodies that overlap between instruments, and crisp chordal areas in the piece. The coda begins slightly atonal and gradually opens into bright harmonies at the end. A conductor may be useful in rehearsal and performance.

By the way... was originally composed for four trumpets and played outdoors during Oberlin College's Commencement Weekend, May 1989.
