Oscar Fuchs was born Oskar von Diebitsch in Altona, a suburb of
Hamburg, Germany, where he studied music and was trained as a classical
musician. His Chamber Music SuiteGondoliera, (Gondola Song), Abendlied
(Evening Song) and Scherzo--- was originally published and known in Germany
as Drei Salonstucke (Three Chamberworks), which indicated that they were of a
lighter nature. Composed in 1888 and published the next year,
these charming pieces make fine encores separately or a nice lighter work
when played together.
This arrangement for Brass Sextet
is accessible for advancing musicians (high school or adult) and suitable for
concerts, recitals and other special occasions. It is scored for Bb Trumpet 1
& 2, F Horn, Trombone, Euphonium and Tuba.
Additional/Optional parts
are
available for C Trumpet 1 & 2; Eb Horn, Treble Clef Trombone and
Euphonium; Eb Tuba-Treble Clef. Performers and listeners alike will enjoy
Fuchs' Chamber Music Suite.
