A fun and unique composition written for young band and electric guitar, inspired by the composer's grandson, who plays trumpet and guitar. The piece features electric guitar with distortion, offering an exciting and fresh experience for both band and beginning guitarists. The guitar part, which primarily consists of power chords, includes a short solo that can either be improvised or played as written. A drum set part is included; it's recommended to feature either the drum set or percussion, but not both. This piece is a break from traditional wind band literature and allows for a creative, dynamic performance that will excite both performers and audiences.

"Danse Satanique" begins with an incantation to the solo Horn addressing the occult forces. The end of this incantation is taken up by the Clarinets in the form of a litany giving rise to depths an evil power symbolized not only by the disorganized thrill of a part of the orchestra but also by the power of the Trombones in glissandi. Soon, the emergence of an evil world - with its reminders of the incantatory theme - is set up and inevitably leads to satanic dance.

A fine arrangement of this traditional Japanese fishing song originally used to keep the fishermen in time together as they send the boats out to sea, haul the nets, fold the sails, and load the catch. With lyrics coming from an old fishermen's dialect from the coast of Hokkaido in Japan, bushi' means "folk song" and hai hai' means "yes, yes," while the word soren' is used to mark time. An engaging work, excellent for teaching the pentatonic scale.

How do you describe music combining elements of bluegrass, jazz, funk, blues, and just about everything else in between? "Blu-bop!" To further diversify this veritable hodgepodge of styles, it is  written for symphonic band in that most classical (and formal) of forms, the sonata - hence the "black tie" element. Tightly constructed, the piece grooves despite tricky asymmetrical meters - and most of all, it gets audiences and players excited!

The frantic battle between a man and a fire ant hill is portrayed with dramatic and humorous flair. From the initial calm of the ants going about their business to the chaotic battle that follows, the music uses fast-paced rhythms, clashing dissonances, and vibrant percussion to create a sense of tension and urgency. Each section of the battle is characterized by different musical elements, such as a military march for the ants' preparation and whip-like sounds for the humans' attempts to fend them off, ending in triumph for the victorious ants.
