Darkness in the Midst of the Storm

This introspective and moving original work honors the sadness and loneliness felt by so many during the pandemic. Written in F minor, the foundation is an eight-measure pedal tone that supports a lovely melody featured in both handchimes (three octaves) and handbells. Variations throughout are engaging, with extensive use of LV passages and a few perfectly placed shakes. Imparting a feeling of comfort and hope, the piece flows smoothly and is especially lovely for the Lenten season or any time music for reflection is needed.
