DAYDREAMIN'

The Merriam-Webster dictionary states that the first known use of the word “daydream” was in 1651. It defines a “daydream” as a pleasant visionary usually wishful creation of the imagination. The composition DAYDREAMIN’ was composed as an instrumental solo for the Bass Clarinet with piano accompaniment. When I was a band director at Madison Middle School, Madison, Florida, I arranged/adapted DAYDREAMIN’ for the various instruments that my more advanced band students were playing – (Flute, Oboe, Bb Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Bb Trumpet, Horn in F, Trombone, Baritone, and Tuba). It is my hope that DAYDREAMIN’ will provide students with a song that they will enjoy learning to play, and equip other music educators with a teaching tool that can be used to motivate, and encourage their students. DAYDREAMIN’ for Bass Clarinet with piano accompaniment, is dedicated to my family, friends, teachers, and the thousands of students who have influenced, inspired, enriched, and blessed my life.
