Who could fail to sympathize with the feelings of unrequited love that Schumann immortalized in his song cycle Dichterliebe? On texts of Heinrich Heine, the pieces range from hopeful anticipation to solitary grief and bitter sarcasm. The cycle originated in the year of his marriage to Clara Wieck, an event that took place only after years of struggle. This urtext edition by Schumann specialist Kazuko Ozawa was developed in close collaboration with the experienced pianist and renowned lied accompanist Gerold Huber. The edition includes the entire cycle, including the four songs of the appendix, and is available in medium or low voice with piano.
