El Marranito is an easy composition in the "son" style. It is written for the advancing beginner mariachi. It is based on the D major arpeggio. The violins have optional 4th finger A's and low C#'s. At 17 the 1st violin part has fingering dexterity, while the 2nd violin has repeated eighth notes. 1st trumpet range is up to a C# and the 2nd trumpets range is up to a G# on the staff. The trumpet line starting at 17 also has finger dexterity which might be challenging to some students. The "armonia" parts are divided into easy without redobles and advanced with redobles. Guitarron fingerings are limited to A, D, E, F# and G and the rhythm pattern is a basic "son" line.
