Gibbs Groove was written for the Stick Talk Percussion Ensemble at the Eastman Community Music School. Eastman is located on Gibbs St. in Rochester, NY where the piece was both written and premiered.
Gibbs Groove features members of the ensemble in a small set up. This piece allows young percussionists to strengthen both ensemble and listening skills. Repetitive patterns slowly develop as the piece progresses while maintaining a recognizable groove.

Percussion 1: Djembe (High Pitched) Percussion 2: Djembe (Low Pitched) Percussion 3: Bongos
Percussion 4: Tambourine
