The folklike pentatonic theme in F major is announced over a two bar repetitive left-hand pattern in this charming solo. The middle section theme is contrasted with the dropping of the use of the sustain pedal, louder dynamics and a key centered around A minor. Much like A Zen Moment, also by Carrie Kraft, the repetitive patterns create a relaxing, contemplative mood in both the listener and performer.
