This beautiful arrangement combines two of the most common and well known
melodies of "In the Bleak Midwinter," a poem written by Christina
Rossetti, into the same song. The first melody by Gustav Holst and the second
by Harold Darke. This arrangement will take the audience through a journey of
key signatures beginning in F Major, continuing through Bb, G, E and finally
ending in Ab Major. Each key signature helps to convey the meaning of that
particular verse. This is geared more towards a smaller choir, preferably a
choir of 16 singers and it is also meant for one on a part situations. The
harmonies in this arrangement are simple, yet powerful and reverent. I hope
this arrangement helps remind us of the real reason why we celebrate
Christmas. Gifts and Santa Claus are fun traditions but the real reason why
we celebrate Christmas is because it is the birth of our Savior, Jesus
Christ. I hope you guys enjoy it!!!
