Joy Beyond Measure

A lyrical, energetic, passionate, and expressive original, this creative work can be used in secular as well as sacred settings. Written in three sections; the first borrows briefly from Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, but then the direction flows to a 7/8 section. The last section in 4/4 uses a Bach chorale theme over a flowing bass before returning to a reflection of the opening. The piece was commissioned to honor someone who loved the familiar Bach theme and was also an avid quilter, hence the title Joy Beyond Measure.
