Edited by John M. Laverty. First published and first performed in 1923, Darius Milhaud's La Creation du Monde is in many ways a cutting-edge work. Heavily influenced by American jazz at the time, it features alto saxophone as the main soloist, scored within the string parts. It also incorporates an awkwardly written percussion part that is
arguably the first example of a scored drum set part. This new edition incorporates an updated percussion part that is scored in a more appropriate manner for today's musician.
