Libertango

Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla is most famous for his "nuevo tango" style which incorporates elements of jazz with the traditional tango style. The title, derived from libertad (liberty) combined with tango, stands for the freedom allowed musicians where their limits are defined only by their own capabilities. Hart has used his extensive knowledge and musicianship to faithfully score this for handbells using stopped sounds accenting the rhythm which supports the engaging melody and countermelody. It exudes passion and should be played with sensitivity and nuance through all dynamic ranges.
