licorice stick' (among other colorful phrases), the clarinet shows off its
technical dexterity in a range from low F to high F. It is filled with
humorous percussion effects and clarinet quotes from the well-known
literature. Many scale- and arpeggio-like exercises are also present
providing the "etudes" in the title page sub-title. The accompaniment
will give your band musicians some enjoyable parts to play as well. This
piece should be performed with no less than six capable clarinet players, two
