Mr. Larry Hall was a man whose kindness knew no bounds. An instrument
repairman, he made a living serving many schools in northern Maine. When the
composer was an elementary student, Larry saved the day by repairing his
broken clarinet reed before band class, charging only a quarter, since that
is all the student had. This grade 2.5 piece is dedicated to the memory of
Larry and all the kids he helped in northern Maine and the entire state. The
trumpet solo early in the piece is a special tribute, as Larry was a first
class trumpet player.
