"Magic Carpet" was a tune in my sketchbook, written in the early 90's. This arrangement is described as "Flowing ECM" which reflects early Pat Metheny (check out "Phase Dance") recordings. The lead alto sax is required to double on flute and perform a flute solo. Electric piano is recommended, but not required. In addition to flugel & flute solo, the solo section may be opened up to include guitar and/or piano.
