Moonbeam Serenade is an alto saxophone feature with concert band accompaniment. It's based off of a poem I wrote in which the idea is that moonlight shining on a meadow figuratively releases the songs, the history, the memories of all those who have passed through that field. It is intended to symbolize the various lives that have been in the meadow throughout the years and to communicate their feelings, losses, and hopes. The reading of the poem at the opening of the piece is optional, but a good narrator will certainly help to set the tone of the piece.
