"Mr. Clary" was written at the request of my friend and publishing partner Lester Pack to feature Mr. Tom Clary, a great friend and outstanding musician. The style is intended to emulate Freddie Hubbard (one of Mr. Clary's favorite trumpeters), more specifically, his tune "Sky Dive." This composition also works really well as a flute feature, especially after hearing Hubert Laws on the original "Sky Dive" recording, so a solo flute part is included.
