Nemean Lion

Inspired by the first of Hercules' twelve labors in Greek mythology. In one version, the Nemean lion lured heroes to their doom by appearing as a woman in distress. When the hero arrived at the lion's den, the woman became the lion again. Due to its golden fur, the lion was impervious to arrows – but the triumphant Hercules was able to defeat the lion with his bare hands. This would be the first of twelve trials that Hercules would complete on his path to becoming immortal.
