Not Your Momma's Samba

This bright Latin/samba chart features the full ensemble getting off to a high-energy start, then the alto sax and trumpet take over to present the melody. The trombone section jumps in for the bridge before the trumpets make their majestic return to finish out the form. A 16-bar montuna builds in layers to send off the alto sax soloist, followed by a trombone soloist leading into the entire trombone section trading fours with the drummer. The trumpets join in for two more passages before the saxes take over with a hot section soli. The trumpets return with the final statement of the melody and lead to the big finish.
