This beautiful homophonic piece by von Gluck, a master composer from the classical period, is easy to learn considering it is a masterwork. It has nice vocal parts that will assist the singers in learning how to sing legato. There is a lovely treble solo that will make any young soloist proud to be asked to sing it. The piano part is not too challenging so it is accessible to young pianists who are serious about their musicianship. Since Part IV (adolescent baritone) is optional, the piece may be sung as three-parts or four-parts. If sung by all-male groups with changing voices, Part I is sung by adolescent baritones, Part II by changed-voice tenors or baritones, and Part III by cambiatas.
