Perceptions for Soprano and Cello

This composition in is in three movements.The text is from three poems written by the composer. "Closed Doors, Open Windows" talks about how opportunities present themselves even in the darkest hours. "I Am A Conduit" discusses how an artist is only a channel for a higher power. "Changes" takes the listener from birth through death and illustrates the need to adapt to change. The music is mostly tonal with frequent modulation. The mood changes operatically and both the voice and cello reflect the text through word painting.
