Purple Martins is a TTBB setting of the poem by American poet Carl Sandburg (1878-1967) commissioned by Constellation Men's Ensemble for their 2025 program on the theme of Chicago seasons. Much of Sandburg's work concerned Chicago, where he worked as a reporter. He earned three Pulitzer Prizes for his poetry and for his biography of Abraham Lincoln.
