A medium advanced composition for Jazz Ensemble. The composition starts with a moody "film noiresque" opening. It then explodes it to a steamy samba. Prior to the swing solo section there is an optional improvised piano cadenza. This cadenza was recorded masterfully by Jazz Pianist Dave Gleason on Chad Lenig's virtually present big band album "Chaukhamba". The arrangement features several style changes but is playable by an advanced HS Jazz Ensemble. If you are looking for a challenging adventure for your group this piece is an excellent choice!
