The Silvertone 851 Hawaiian-scene ‘Water Skier’ ukulele with stenciled graphic was available from 1951 to 1959. The original listing in the Sears catalog noted: “Standard size, mellow tone, ample volume. Birch body with shaded mahogany finish, non-slip pegs and surfboard design”. It featured rear facing ‘friction’ tuners and a unique design rosette. Our reissue has updated this design with a 18 fret fingerboard, mahogany construction and modern geared tuners to ensure reliable intonation. The Hawaiian-scene ‘surfboat’ graphic has been recreated to echo the original in all its fun detail. The 851 reissue features a traditional mahogany body and neck with a Walnut fingerboard.
