Enjoy this concert opener, composed to show school spirit! Our principal at Hillcrest, Will Deeths, is the most enthusiastic man you'll ever see at a middle school campus. Over his tenure he has coined the phrase "Soar Hawks Soar!", since our school mascot is the hawks, and uses it multiple times daily during announcements, assemblies, etc. When I heard that we were getting a scrap metal sculpture by renowned local artist Patrick Amiot I knew I had to compose a piece for its unveiling. I then realized I could use this piece to also celebrate Principal Deeths, and the title was just too obvious.
