Spyglass: Cracking the Case

An utterly delightful original work for the handbell soloist… particularly a soloist who enjoys integrating some drama into the performance! The melody is engaging, and clever use of stopped techniques such as ring touch on the second of a pair of tied notes accentuates the rhythms. Mart, mart lift, gyro, and shake add to the visual fun and accent the swing feel – with straight rhythms providing contrast. The piano accompaniment with its walking bass line, legato sections, and some fabulous triplet passages is the icing on this musical cake!
