Written for Kent Griggs in the 1970s, this five movement piece is a 'tour
de force' for the English Horn. The movements as balanced between faster and
slower tempos and #3 is a full Baroque five-part fugue form. (Movements 4 and
5 are played as one continuous section.) If no string quartet is available,
the work is also scored with a clarinet quartet as Pepper #11160559. The set
