"Technical Foul" was written for my band at Travis Middle School in Paris, TX, in the fall of 2007. This band was comprised of 8th graders and they love to play rock tunes so this tune was perfect for them. The harmonic language was taken from the Foo Fighters, one of my favorite rock bands and there is a nod to the Weather Report classic, "Birdland." Although percussionists will have the most fun with this tune, there are interesting parts for all instruments. This hard driving rock tune should be a blast to play!
