The Golden Pier

Inspired by the composer's home state of Michigan, this lyrical piece depicts a beautiful sunset on the shores of the Grand Haven Lighthouse and Pier. This piece features an extended technique - blowing air through the instrument non-pitched - in several of the wind and brass parts, as well as the mysterious sounds of the ocean drum in the percussion section.
