jig should remain bouncy and lively throughout. After a short
transition
from 6/8 to 9/8, the piece settles into a flowing 3/4 meter.
The middle section draws influence from the modalities of English
folk music and showcases the bass clarinet's lyrical ability. At the
conclusion of the middle theme, the bass clarinet and piano work
together to bring back the lively B and A themes to finish the piece.
