The Perils of Penelope

"The Perils of Penelope" is a turn-of-the-century small cast musical melodrama that features hilarious audience interaction as the characters explore what it means to be stuck as a stereotype.

Unit Set: A cabin in the wilds of Minnesota

Cast:  2 M; 1 F; 1 any gender, non-singer. One octave+ ranges for soprano, tenor, bass voices.

Synopsis: Is the hero Nelson Noble really the villain? Is the villain Sylvester Snide really the hero?  Is the heroine Penelope Parker really the picture of perfection? Everybody loves to hate the villain in The Perils of Penelope.  The show features a silent scene-stealer (mother-in-mime).

Orchestration Choices: 1) 8-piece orchestra OR 2) Piano and/or Percussion OR 3) Digital Orchestra .mp3 Performance Tracks. All three choices are included!

Performance Time: approx. 1 hour 30 min. + intermission (also available as a one hour, one-act: Gadzooks! A Musical Melodrama)

How To License This Musical For Performance: Your purchase of the minimum required Libretto/Vocal Books allows you to PRODUCE this show!  Simply email a copy of your JW Pepper receipt to [email protected] and you will sign a contract with TND MUSICALS for your performance dates.  All Production Materials - which currently cost $370 - are delivered digitally so you don't have to erase markings and mail the orchestra books back!  If you are an accredited School Theatre, there are NO LICENSING FEES.  All other theatres will pay a negotiated licensing fee based on your number of performances, ticket prices and seating capacity.
