The Rotten Kid

As recorded by the Buddy Rich Big Band on the album The New One, this great arrangement is full of fire and energy. Set as an up-tempo shuffle, it's a wonderful chart to feature lots of soloists along with dynamic ensemble writing throughout. There's solo space for alto saxophone, tenor saxophone and trombone, allowing each to blow as long as they would like. In addition, this tune features a saxophone soli, a short trumpet section soli (a la Dizzy), and climaxes with a great shout chorus. The Rotten Kid will be an outstanding opener or closer for any concert program!
