"To be young for too long" is a piece for voice and cello that was commissioned for the Irish Composers' Collective's: Evening of New Chamber Works in June 2023. The text, written by Linda Badgley, describes the complexities of being a young adult in the modern day. The piece aims to both enhance Badgley's words, and be a musical interpretation of them- expressing the moments of serenity and joy, along with moments of panic and confusion brought on by the ups and downs of a person's early twenties.
