Feature two of your percussionists! This march was commissioned by the Concord Band (MA) in 1987 as a surprise for William M. Toland on the occasion of his 25th anniversary as the band's conductor. Mr. Hazzard's longtime friend and mentor John Corley (51 years director of the MIT band) conducted the surprise performance on March 7, 1987. The dual snare drum solos in the march are an homage to WIlliam Toland's career as a percussionist. In performance, the two snare drums should be positioned at the front of the sage on opposite sides, as far apart as possible. While not strictly "solo" parts the two drums are featured and very important to the piece. The music is a snappy march which is easily playable by high school band and above and a good middle school band will be able to do it as well. A fun piece to do right before intermission.
