This delightful concert piece is perfect to end a performance or use as
an encore. Written originally for piano in 1854 by American-born composer
Louis M. Gottschalk, this work adapts very well to the band medium. Except
for a few measures of ornaments and counter lines, it holds true to
Gottschalk's original composition. It is a fun piece to play and listen to,
and also a good articulation assessment for your band. A short work of around
3 minutes, it is easy to schedule into a concert program. (NOTES: Grade 3-4
(Medium-Advanced) due to the high ranges and technical facility needed in the
upper woodwinds, and rapid staccato tonguing throughout the band. 11x17
score, 9x12 parts).
