A stately setting of "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" for symphonic band with optional chorus and optional organ. All choral and organ parts are crossed cued for performance by band alone. The work is scored to be quite effective as a band-only piece, or band and organ. With the chorus, it is designed to be used as a stately processional to begin a Christmas concert. After a foreboding introduction, the tenors and basses sing the first verse of "O Come" from behind the audience, in a chant style. (This is cued in the euphonium for band-only performance). The processional follows. The work progresses from dark to light, with the ending bright and triumphant. There is also an orchestral version available from the composer in the same key for a department-wide joint performance by the band, orchestra, and all choral ensembles. See the video or a live performance.
