We Come to the Manger Again

Margaret Vance has contributed a rousing holiday anthem with a dynamic ending. �Considered to be easy to learn and perform, it is written in ABA form with Part IV (bass clef) displaying an ostinato pattern throughout the A section. �The B section is a contrasting homophonic setting. �Vance takes the singers through different keys returning to the home key of A-flat Major at the end. �When sung by groups with changing voices the voicing is considered to be SSCB or SACB. �It may also be sung by adult groups with fewer men than women voiced SSAB (Part III is written in the treble clef).
