You Ain't the Bossa Me

Let this chart be the first bossa nova you put in front of your beginning jazz ensemble. It's easy to play yet captures all the Brazilian character of this key Latin style. The tempo is relaxed at about 120 bpm, and the melody is carried at first by a small group of alto 1, guitar and/or vibes. Suggested solos are included for alto sax 1 or 2, and optional parts are included for expanded instrumentations. This is a great way to teach this important style!
